Participant“New Chinese practical reader“ textbooks are a really worthwhile investment to aid your learning.Six volumes each consisting of a textbook and a workbook. They are available with or without an audio cd, but it is recommended you choose the versions with the audio CDs, to demonstrate the correct pronunciations.
The MDBG English to Chinese dictionary is useful for looking up vocab., it is really easy to use and you can find out the meaning of a character you don’t understand.

ParticipantHi there,
You may go to the Amazon bookstore to buy the book “Chinese for Beginners” by M. Wond. It tells you how to watch a lot of Chinese animated cartoons without any charge. It is a very useful book. You would be crazy for the videos recommended therein. -

Self-study is not the wise way if you want to learn Chinese well. And the best way to learn Chinese is finding a native teacher. You need to immersion yourself in this language.
