The “有” sentence
The sentence taking the verb “有” as the main element of the predicate usually expresses possession. Here are some examples cases:
The affirmative form: A+有+B
我有一个姐姐。(Wǒ yǒu yí gè jiě jie. I have an elder sister.)
我有一个梦想。(Wǒ yǒu yí gè mèngxiǎng. I have a dream.)
The negative form: A+没有+B
it’s negative form is formed by the adverb “没” before “有”. (“不” cannot be used here.)
他没有工作。(Tā méiyǒu gōngzuò. He does not have job.)
我们没有小狗。(Wǒmen jiā méiyǒu xiǎo gǒu. We don’t have a puppy.)
我没有智能手机。(Wǒ méiyǒu zhìnéng shǒujī.I don’t have a smartphone. )
The affirmative-negative form: A+有没有+B
你有没有问题?Nǐ yǒu méiyǒu wèntí ? =你有问题吗?Nǐ yǒu wèntí ma? (Do you have any questions?)
“有” sentence also may express a state of existence, e.g. :
一年有四个季节。(Yì nián yǒu sì gè jìjié. There are four seasons in a year.)
你们班有多少学生?(Nǐmen bān yǒu duōshǎo xuéshēng? How many students are there in your class?)
学校里面有银行吗?(Xuéxiào lǐmiàn yǒu yínháng ma? Is there bank in the school?)
