If there are many ways to say “thank you” in Mandarin , there are equally as many ways to say “You’re welcome”. No matter what languages you speak, being polite to others is a respectful attitude to have. And since politeness is always a good thing, it’s even better to know all the ways to say “thank you” and “you are welcome” in Chinese!
不用谢 Don`t mention it.
e.g.
A:你的包。(Nǐ de bāo.) Here’s your bag.
B:谢谢! (Xiè xie!) Thanks!
A:不用谢。(Búyòng xiè.) Don`t mention it.
不客气 You`re welcome.
你太客气了 That`s all right. / You`re too polite.
A:你可以教我汉语吗?(Nǐ kěyǐ jiāo wǒ hànyǔ ma?) Could you teach me Mandarin Chinese?
B:可以啊。(Kěyǐ a.) Okay.
A:非常好。太感谢了。(Fēicháng hǎo. Tài gǎnxiè le.) Great. Thank you very much.
B:不客气。(Bú kèqì.) You`re welcome.
A:这是送给你的礼物。谢谢你教我汉语。(Zhè shì sòng gěi nǐ de lǐwù. Xièxie nǐ jiāo wǒ hànyǔ.)
This is a gift for you. Thank you for teaching me Mandarin Chinese.
B:你太客气了。(Nǐ tài kèqi le.) You`re too polite.
没事儿 That`s OK./ No big deal.
这没什么 It`s nothing.
A:这是你的包裹。(Zhè shì nǐ de bāoguǒ.) Here is your package.
B:啊,谢谢。( A, xièxie.) Ah, thank you.
A:没事儿。(Méi shìr.) That’s OK.
A:我帮你买了纸巾。(Wǒ bāng nǐ mǎile zhǐjīn.) I bought facial tissue for you.
B:辛苦你了。(Xīnkǔ nǐle.) You troubled yourself.
A:这没什么。(Zhè méi shénme.) It`s nothing.
小意思 No sweat.
A:我的手机坏了。(Wǒ de shǒujī huài le.) My cellphone is broken.
B:我帮你修吧。(Wǒ bāng nǐ xiū ba.) Let me help you fix it.
A:真的吗?太谢谢了!(Zhēn de ma? Tài xièxie le!) Really? Thank you very much!
B:小意思。(Xiǎo yìsi.) No sweat.
不麻烦 No bother at all.
A:我做火锅给你吃吧!(Wǒ zuò huǒguō gěi nǐ chī ba!) Let me make hotpot for you to eat.
B:真的吗?那太麻烦你了!(Zhēn de ma? Nà tài máfan nǐ le!) Really? You went through such trouble.
A:不麻烦。(Bù máfan.) No bother at all.
应该的 Sure
